Power Bi menu items wont be there randomly

I took a video of what seems like a bug, (hopefully you can see it, its an icloud link from an email, dont know if those are temporary or anything) but even if the video isn't working I'll try to describe exactly whats going on:

There's been several times now, that for various reasons I need to click a menu item in the power bi service, and it just wont be there, until a few moments later I navigate back to the exact same page and it will be, examples:

  • I wanted to set up a scheduled refresh in that video.  If I click the "schedule refresh" heading and go to the page where I would set that up, as you can see in this screenshot, it'll say the data type doesn't support it (its just an api pull).

  • If I navigate away, and then come back moments later, it'll now give me the option: (I did simply hit 'refresh' in between)

  • Another example of this happened with a question I was asking online about Power Bi here.
  • As you can see, i put a screenshot up of how I couldn't get to the 'configure dataset credentials' option.  it wasn't even there.  Same thing, a few moments later, I came back and it was.  With no changes to the report/data in between.

Similar things have happened to me several times, and its almost like I just cross my fingers and hope the menus I need to see are there when i need to see them.  Any idea whats going on?  Is this a bug I should report?  Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @JoeCrozier

The reason that is happening is because in your first screenshot it is saying that it cannot refresh the dataset because the Gateway Credentials/Data Source Credentials have not been correctly configured.

Once you configure the above you should then get the option to enable the scheduled refresh?

I dont think this is the case.  As you can see in the second screenshot, when i got back to it, the schedule refresh option was available.  I turned it on, set it for a specific time and came back later to see if it was successful and it was.  So in other words, I dont believe its that the credentials haven't been correctly configured
