Power Bi Problems with Schedule Refresh

Hello,

I created a Power BI report in the Power BI Developer app. My data source is a folder containing an Excel spreadsheet of the same format. Each workbook is on a different day, but my credential is my Windows authentication.

I have published the report in my workspace. When I go to PowerBi online and set up the schedule refresh in semantic models, I receive the error message below.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Yes, you will need a Gateway setup and the path to your Excel file added as a Data Source.  See this article for using a Gateway:
Guidance for deploying a data gateway for the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

And, along with the links  Isent above, this is another helpful article:

Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi @Anonymous ,

The service needs to have a gateway and this file as a data source for it to be able to access the file on your machine.  If it is set up as a data source in the gateway already then you can select the "Data Credentials" in the settings for the semantic model and modify it there.  You will see something like this if it is wrong at this step:

There are numerous web articles about using Excel, but here is one to help you get started:

My data source credentials are grayed out and unselectable.
