All Excel Files are Getting updated When One File is Updated

I have several folders, each with some Excel files in it on OnDrive.  Each of these files are copied from one original file by copying and renaming so they have different name under different folders.  For example the original file was MyFile.xlsx, I copied several times and renamed as Folder1/MyFile1.xlsx, Folder2MyFile2.xlsx, Folder3MyFile3.xlsx, Folder4MyFile4.xlsx

When I open up the original MyFile.xlsx and make a change, all files in other folders are also update with that change. And, all 5 of BI Service reports contain identical data.  I do not have any Automate/PA that opens or closes or updates any files on OneDrive.

What do I need to do so they are treated as individual and seperate file?

Hello @MikeGanem2

If the files were copied using “Save As” while AutoSave was enabled, they might retain links to the original file through OneDrive’s synchronization system. This can cause changes in one file to propagate across others.

Save a Copy instead of “Save As” to create a completely independent copy.

there is Edit Links or Workbook Links, depending on your Excel version in Data tab. Look for the Queries & Connections group or in All Commands

If there are any links pointing to the original file or other external sources, break them by selecting the link and clicking Break Link.
