Power BI recognizing Null data

I am referencing a excel file from the Shared drive for a report I am refreshing in workspace. But the file keeps pulling in null values. Do you know why? I have formatted the data as a table as well.

Hi @homboy27

You will need to use the Power BI Gateway to create a data source connection to the file so that it is included when you refresh your semantic model.

Thanks for the reply. I already have used the POWER BI gateway for this so the file is included with the refresh that I do.

Hi @homboy27

That would be because you have blanks or null data in your Excel file. I would recommend in power query to replace those null values with a valid text value.

I am replacing them with a valid text value. Do you know why this keeps happening?

Also I have a file that I auto refresh and save on Shared Drive. That file on shared drive is then referenced when i refresh the BI report in the workspace. However when the BI report refreshes, it doesnt pick up the values in the file.  I have to manually open the file on Shared drive and resave and then refresh the BI report for it to pick the values from that file. Do you know why that might be?
