Hi,
We are using Snowflake as our data warehouse and we would like to use Power BI as our BI tool. As we have understood it, to be able to refresh we need to have a PBI gateway to connect to Snowflake.
Does the Gateway need to be installed on a on-prem server or could it be installed on a Azure VM (or elsewhere in Azure) to be able to refresh the data from Snowflake?

You can install the On-Premises Data Gateway(not the Personal Gateway) on the VM in Azure but both the two on your own computer. Here are some articles may help you:
