Power BI OneDrive / Sharepoint Refresh fail

Hi,

This will probably be any easy one:
A PBIX file imported from Sharepoint will continually fail updating. It isn't the semantic model but the report itself.
I have deleted the report from PowerBI online multiple times.

The file is fine when viewed from Sharepoint Online. This problem has been occurring for weeks.
It seems to be only one report that fails

Power BI requires the SharePoint path to be in a specific format when publishing from SharePoint Online. The preferred format is:

https://<yourtenant>.sharepoint.com/sites/<sitename>/Shared Documents/<folder>/<file>.pbix

Make sure:

  • You used the “Web” connector (Get Data > Web) to import the file.

  • You did not use the local sync folder (e.g. C:\Users\...\OneDrive), even if the file is from SharePoint.

Hi @Shravan133 , thank you for that.

1. I don't think it is a data source issue (see below)
2. Confirmed the source is sharepoint, not a onedrive shortcut to sharepoint folder

I just wanted to make clear that any data source from Sharepoint online as part of the semantic model is pulling through fine. So it isn't a data source issue. It is the physical report.

For example:
If I change a visual using Power BI Desktop and save to Sharepoint online, I would expect Power BI online to sync that change (over time - up to an hour). This is how I have configured all reports, so that I don't have to hit Publish on the desktop version. I also have better version control etc etc.

I hope that makes sense
