Hello Community,
i wonder if it is possible to consume BW Rights in Power BI with directQuery.
That means: I create a report with directquery and publish this report in the cloud.
Annother user, who has different Row level rights, defined in the BW System, open the report.
Can this user see only the data, he is authorized for, or can he see the complete data?
Power Bi says: https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/power-bi/desktop-directquery-about
My understanding is, regarding the information below, that is is not possible?
Thank you in Advance

Hi @Sevhan
Just add a little bit, the access to report depends on the credentials you used to fetch the source data. Let's say if A can see all data, and B can see part of data. when you manage the credentials using A's under the gateway. although you log in the power bi as B, he can see everything. coz power bi gets the source data using A's credentials. It doesn't matter with the permission set in the data source.
You'll need to implement the RLS in desktop again to achieve the different accessibility.

Hi @Sevhan
RLS is feasible in DQ mode, the paragraph you attached is referring that when you published the report to service you need to configure the credentials otherwise the report is not opening. Power bi service using the credentials to connect the data source. and then users with specific roles can access the report accordingly.
