I opened Excel, used the Power BI publish tool and connected to data and then created a pivot table.
I pinned the table to PowerBI and it shows all the columns and rows, but they appear to be a static image.
Am I misisng something or does it just pin static images?
Hi @OneWithQuestion,
Currently, Power BI publisher for Excel is used to take snapshots of your most important insights in Excel, and pin them to dashboards in Power BI. The pined tiles are snapshots, so it's not dynamic. For more details, you can refer to this article.

So just to verify, there is no way to put an Excel workbook or pivot table or anything in Power BI?
You CAN upload the raw data or store an Excel sheet in OneDrive and use it as a data source... but the visualizations shown to the end user must always be rendered by Power BI IF you want dynamic data? (That is, not a snapshot/pic) is that correct?
Hi @OneWithQuestion,
Yes, I think so. Currently we need to manually update the pinned tiles in Pin Manager. So I would suggest you add an idea on Power BI Ideas to improve Power BI on this feature.
