Parsing JSON Error: We cannot convert the value "[List]" to type Table

I'm getting this error when trying to refresh on PBI Service. The report refreshes fine on Desktop, but then it fails on Service.

 

Processing error: We cannot convert the value "[List]" to type Table.

No change to the data source side. I narrowed it down to 1 query, which had a merge step. I separated the query into two, first importing the json file, then referencing the first query and merging in the second. Not sure why this helps, but it successfully refreshes on Service now.

Hi @ybarsabal,

Does any change apply to your data source side? Have you done some advanced operations in your query steps? (e.g. merge, combine, invoke custom function...)

It should help if you share some dummy data with a part of the query steps to test:
