Parameters for import mode,

Hi @pallavi_r
Greetings!
I have three question here on Power BI-
1. Can you please explain in detail about parameters for that import mode? Basically use parameter to restrict the number of rows to may be a few thousands and once you publish refresh it on server with millions of records to test import issue?
2. What are the standard limitation of import mode semantic model?
3. How to resolve it? Refer below image-

Thanks,
Ajit Singh

Hi @AjitSingh100488 ,

  • Parameters for Import Mode: Use parameters (e.g., row limits) in Power BI Desktop to restrict imported rows for testing; adjust the parameter in Power BI Service to load millions of records after publishing.
  • Import Mode Limitations: Dataset size is limited to 1 GB (Pro) or 400 GB (Premium), with refresh limits (8/day for Pro, 48/day for Premium) and slower performance for large datasets.
  • "The key didn't match any rows" Error: This occurs due to missing/mismatched key values, data type mismatches, or case sensitivity. Verify data integrity, relationships, and clean data in Power Query to resolve.

I hope it will be helpful.

Thanks,

Sai Teja
