Hi everyone
I'm struggling to establish a connection to my ElasticSearch data source on Power BI Online.
On the desktop I've successfully connected to the source via the ODBC connector, as I've previously set up the ODBC on my computer.
I've then installed a personal gateway and published my report to PowerBI Online. However, when setting up the connections on the datasource, I've come to this:
I've tried the regular credentials but the main issue is that the connection string doesn't seem to be found. I've looked on the ODBC data source admin to see if there's any connection string, but there isn't. Also I didn't pass any to PowerBI desktop, only the configured dsn
Does anyone know how to get this connection string?
Solved! Go to Solution.
did you set the dsn up as a user dsn or a system dsn ? (Hint: Needs to be a system dsn)

It was a user dsn and now I succeed to connect on system dsn. What should I do next?
repeat the same setup on all gateway cluster members.
It worked, I was able to set up the connection on the Gateway. Thanks a lot.
I'm now facing another issue that I'll probably open another ticket. I cannot connect to any data model published on my own account. I thought it was related to the Elastic/Gateway issue but I made a test with a "data model" of a simple excel file and got the same:
Do you have any idea of what it can be?
