No longer able to connect to datamarts in power bi via SQL connector string

This just stopped working last week. I have had a power bi datamart set up in my Premium Capacity workspace for the better half of one year and it has been working great. I have been using the SQL Connector string to tap into this datamart with tools like SSMS, Excel, power bi, etc.... However just last week I noticed that this connection is no longer working and am getting the following error. Below is a view of the error I get both in excel and SSMS. Why is this no longer working and how do I get this working again??

I did notice that my server named changed from having the "datamart.pbidedicated.windows.net" at the end to now having "datamart.fabric.microsoft.com".... but this wasn't something I did to change and not sure if this was the cause bacause I know other people at other companies that have the "datamart.fabric.microsoft.com" in their connection strings for datamarts and it is working just fine for them, so not sure if this is the reason why it broke...

**We do not have Fabric Capacity.... we only have Premium Capacity**
**Also I tried to create a completely new premium workspace and a brand new datamart with sample data loaded... tried the sql connection in SSMS and Excel.... same thing, doesn't work**

Below is the SQL Connection String to my datamart....

Error from SSMS

Also this is not just effecting datamarts, but also anything else with SQL strings in Power BI like Warehouses or Lakehouses too.

How do I get this resolved, but also how did this break????

Thanks!

Thanks I have reached out to MS Support and will let you all know what they say.

Hi @tbucki1 ,

May I ask if you have resolved this issue? If so, please let us know how that was resolved and mark the reply as the solution. This will be helpful for other community members who have similar problems to solve it faster.

Thank you.

No this is not resolved yet. I have connected with Microsoft Support and so far they have not been able to figure it out. They are still working on my ticket, but so far we have not been able to figure this out.
