Multi-Geo doesn't support Metrics in Power BI

Hi,

I'd like to understand more about the limitation 'Multi-Geo doesn't support Metrics in Power BI' as described in these articles:

Firstly, does this apply if I'm in the same geography but different regions? E.g., home region is Australia Southeast and the workspace is in Australia East capacity?

Secondly, will the metrics section be hidden? Or will I have access and errors out when trying to create metric?

Multi-Geo in Power BI refers to the ability to store data in different geographic locations. However, there are some limitations, particularly with the Metrics (formerly known as Goals) feature.

1. Same Geography, Different Regions

If your home region is Australia Southeast and the workspace is in Australia East, it's still considered the same geography (Australia). The limitation of Multi-Geo not supporting Metrics usually applies when data is stored across different geographies (like Australia and Europe). Since both regions are within the same geography, this limitation shouldn't apply.

2. Metrics Section Visibility

When Multi-Geo is not supported for Metrics, the Metrics section will generally be hidden. You won't have access to it, and it won't appear in your Power BI interface. This means you won't encounter errors when trying to create a metric because the option simply won't be available.

And is interesting to see that goals are not supported in Multi-Geo capacities. What I would do is just try create another capacity in another region and then see if you can create a goal just to see if it actually works.
