Local File to Gateway

Hello,

I'm trying to add a local file to the gateway using the full c\users\myname\folder\document path but it isn't working. How can I trouble shoot? I'm getting the error Unable to connect to the data source undefined.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Have you tried to add the data source in manage gateway and then map it in the dataset setting if you are using the standard mode on-premises data gateway?

Which Getaway you use? The personal or the recommended?

If your Gateway looks like this it will work. You only need to add your email adress which is registed in the power bi service. If you have an excel file to connect please try to upload it directly into the service or via power platform dataflow 🙂 maybe that will be easier for you.

If it is for you than the personal Gateway is ok, but remember If you install it on your device and your device is off than the gateway is off to :).
