Hi,
Not sure if this is in the correct forum, as I saw posts related to gateways in multiple forums. Is there something I need to do to enable LDAP authentication for a Teradata data source on an enterprise data gateway?
I'm trying to create a Teradata data source on our enterprise data gateway. We use LDAP for our authentication method, and I was able to get this connection to work on PBI desktop by (1) downloading the Teradata .NET data provider and (2) enabling LDAP by running the prompt "setx PBI_EnableTeradataLdap true".
I did the same on our server running the gateway, but the only authentication methods I have available when trying to add a new data source are Basic and Windows, and neither work.
Thanks.

Hi @nfietz ,
According to my knowledge, LDAP authentication is not supported in Power BI currently.
An idea similar with what you expect has been submitted in Microsoft Idea (powerbi.com), please vote it up and you can add comments. Hopes Power Bi will implement this in nearby future.

Thanks @v-jianboli-msft. I would have assumed that if you could set up an LDAP connection for Teradata within PBI desktop using the command "setx PBI_EnableTeradataLdap true" it would also work for the automatic refresh on the gateway. However, I see it's explicitly stated in this Power BI report data sources in Power BI Report Server in a footnote that "Using LDAP authentication with Teradata (enabled in Power BI Desktop by using the Command Prompt command 'setx PBI_EnableTeradataLdap true') is not supported for model refresh."
I'm not familiar with Report Server and how that's similar to/different than an enterprise data gateway, but based on your response am assuming I can't automatically refresh data via the built in Teradata connection with LDAP and may have to use an ODBC connection instead.
