Hello,
I loggined into my Power BI service in a long time to study more about Power BI Service, it asks me to sign up for 60 days trial of Fabric, I have previously already used my one month free Power BI pro trial one year ago.
Signed up for the Fabric 60 days trial 2 days ago, thinking this is a difference service to Power BI Pro with more features under the Fabric umbrella.
This is what I see when I click my profile.
When I click on the Trial: 58 days left on the top bar, it gives me a pop up message saying
So I am really confused now, am I on Power BI Pro or Fabric?
What are the differences?
I just want to learn Power BI Service and admin stuff so that I can be better at my job, should I sign up for Fabric or Power BI Pro after my trial ends?
Thank you.

Because you can use Fabric workloads with a Fabric trial license, it's closer to Power BI Premium, but not to Power BI Per User (PPU).
PPU allows to user Power BI Premium features but not Fabric workloads. This site provides an introduction to the differences between the different licenses: Pricing & Product Comparison | Microsoft Power BI

Hey @BenBlackswan ,
First, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Pro are not the same. Here you will find an introduction to Microsoft Fabric: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/get-started/microsoft-fabric-overview
Power BI, is one part of Fabric. You can still use Power BI as you did one year ago, creating reports, dashboards, semantic models, and dataflows.
If you are not intereested in the additional capabilities of Microsoft Fabric - go for Microsoft Pro licensing. This will allow you to do everything Power BI based things. With Pro licensing you can not use Power BI Premium features, and you can also not use features that come with Microsoft Fabric, like creating lakehouses, using notebooks, and more data analytics workloads.
Hopefully, this helps to clarify things.
Regards,
Tom
So what is my current Fabric trial closest to? PBI Pro or PBI Premium per User?
