How to access my on-prem data gateway data source on a new project?

Sorry, totally new to Power BI and this feels like a very basic question, but I haven't found much for documentation on this.

I have installed the On-Premises Data Gateway on a computer, signed in with my account and see that it's online and available for PowerBI. I've added custom connectors for Replicon (timesheets) and Hubspot (CRM) and the gateway sees them and displays them on the UI.

On the web PowerBI interface, under Settings > Manage Gateway > On-premises data gateways, I see my gateway and it's online. Under Data Sources, I created a new data source, named it Replicon, and specified the Replicon connector as the Data source type. I think that this is configured correctly, as its status reports as Online.

How, now, do I access my Replicon data source in Power BI? On the web app, it lets me select for data: Files, Databases, and Dataflows. On the Desktop app, there's a lot of options, but none of them coincide with the name of my datasource (Replicon), nor is there anything where I can select Data Gateway or anything of the sort.

Hi, @Coalsand

You need to download the connector from the official page for Replicon and add it to desktop custom connectors folder.

Note enabling the (Not Recommended) Allow any extension to load without validation or warning option.

Hi Eason,

I've tried the approach you suggested before - the limitation of it is that it only works for Power BI Desktop. My intention is to publish to SharePoint, which doesn't seem to retain the custom connector connections on Publish.

This is why my current approach is to configure an on-prem data gateway, give it the custom connectors, and then use that on my project. I just can't, for the life of me, figure out how I'm supposed to query the gateway.
