Hello,
I want to use the sales data from Workspace A in Workspace B so that I don't have to duplicate the same data.
Is this possible?
If I create a report in Workspace B using the sales data published in Workspace A, will the report be published in Workspace A or Workspace B?

Hi @Lora_0121 ,
Based on the testing, it is possible to create a report in workspace test12-9 using the dataset 9-24test export color published in workspace test9-18.
Creating a new report. Select pick a published semantic model from test9-18 workspace.
Then, save the report, select the workspace and enter the report name.

Hi @Lora_0121 ,
You can connect to XMLA analysis services endpoint using analysis services connector from the new report to the existic semantic model and pull the data.
I hope it will be helpful.
Thanks,
Sai Teja
yes, you can connect to other semantic models, either from the same workspace or from other workspaces.
NOTE: Your report users need to have access to (and have "installed") both apps (or both workspaces if you don't use apps) !
I cannot see the sharing option in the Admin Portal. Is there a higher-level administrator?
Hi @Lora_0121 ,
1. The setting can be found in Admin Portal - > Tenant Settings. This allows organization to share dataset across workspace for reporting.
Link for reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-datasets-admin-across-workspaces
2. Then once this setting is done, we need to give build permission on the dataset, which can be done in the following ways:
i)While sharing the semantic model, it show option for build permission with recipient
or
ii)If recipient has contributor role in the workspace where semantic model/dataset is residing

Thanks,
Pallavi
This setting is done in each workspace/semantic model, not on capacity or tenant level. Allow "build access".
