How to Disable Only PowerPoint Export in Power BI While Keeping PDF Enabled?

I have a requirement to disable the option to export reports to Microsoft PowerPoint in Power BI, but I want to keep the PDF export option available. However, in the tenant settings, the option seems to be combined as "Export report as PowerPoint presentation or PDF document." Is there any way to specifically disable just the PowerPoint export option while leaving PDF enabled?

Hi @Anishka00  - Unfortunately, in Power BI's tenant settings, the "Export report as PowerPoint presentation or PDF document" option is combined, and there is no direct way to disable only the PowerPoint export while leaving PDF export enabled.

As @rajendraongole1  mentioned unfortunately it is not possible to disable the PowerPoint export option in Power BI while keeping the PDF  export option enabled using tenant settings. This is because, in Power BI, the export report as PowerPoint presentations or PDF document option is integrated into a single setting.

Hi @Anishka00 

You cannot disable PowerPoint export while keeping PDF export enabled in Power BI tenant settings, as the option is combined under "Export report as PowerPoint presentation or PDF document."

Workarounds:

1. Use Embed API: Restrict export options programmatically in embedded reports.
2. Report Design: Add visual cues to discourage PowerPoint exports.
3. Limit Access: Enable export only for essential users.
4. Submit Feedback: Suggest this feature on the Power BI Ideas platform.

For now, control export permissions carefully or use APIs for more granularity.

If you turned of export and then used Power Automate with a button to email a PDF that might work.
