History Data in Direct Query

Hi All,

I wanted to check with you all for one of my clients ask:

The Ask is - for a report we should import last 3 months of data and when user filters anything beyond 3 months , report should fetch beyond 3 months data in direct query.

By any chance , is it feasible

TIA

Hii @vamshikrishna20

Create a hot/cold hybrid table with the latest three months in an Import partition and older data in a DirectQuery partition. This is an advanced setup configured through the XMLA endpoint using TMSL/TOM or tools such as Tabular Editor, and the related dimension tables should preferably use Dual storage mode.

The link below explains this:

It relies on Hybrid Import/DirectQuery partitions in Power BI Premium/Fabric, managed through XMLA/TMSL. All of these are documented, officially supported features, and the model automatically routes queries to the appropriate partition based on the date filter.
