Help with pinning visuals and reports to dashboard

I'm after some advice please on how to pin visuals to a dashboard. I understand i need to be in 'edit' view to do so, but can't work out how to get into edit view.  Sometimes the pin icon appears so i can attach the visual to a dashboard and sometimes the pin icon disappears, but never an option to pin a whole report to dashboard.  The 1st screenshot here shows what i can see - no edit option and the 2nd screenshot shows what i believe i should be able to see?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  ThanksInkedcurrent view_LI.jpgEdit view.PNG

Thanks for your reply @collinq .  This pin option isn't alway available.  Sometime the pin icon is visible for individual report visuals, but other times is completely disappears. But there is never a pin option to pin the entire report to a dahsboard.  I've taken a screenshot of where the pin icon should be, but it's missing.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong?

Hey @RK-136 ,

Ok, you are looking to do the whole report.  You just open the report and then go here:

You may also have  web items that are requiring the admin portal permissions to be set:

@collinq Unfortunatley, that option to pin the report is not available to me - i've clicked on the ...ellipsis like you suggested, but theres no option to pin (see screen shot).  I've cecked settings, account type but can't seem to understand why the pinning tool is not there?

Hey @RK-136 ,

DOes your admin allow pinning to dashboards in the admin portal?

Hi @RK-136 ,

If you are creating a dashboard or adding visuals to a dashboard you do not need to be in Edit mode.  If you open the report in the Service, just go to the visual that you want on the dashboard and select the "pin" option:

And, then, you can select the dashboard you want it to go to or you can create a new one:
