Up until the couple weeks I had a report that pulled data from Google Analytics into a PBIX report which was loaded to the web and worked well through a Google Analytics cloud cennection type. This appears to no longer be available and as such has broken the report on the web. Data is still available in desktop. Is there a different way I am supposed to connect to Google Analytics for reports on the web platform?
Edit: I'm not looking for a 3rd party work-around here. Hoping this can get the attention of someone with Microsoft to let me know if this is a new bug or more details on what happnened.
Hi @ak30 I used the GA native connector but I had some issues from time to time. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI web as your data destination and just follow the instructions you'll see on screen to make the connection
Thanks but I'm not looking for a 3rd party work-around. I'd really just like to understand what happened to the standard connector Microsoft provided and whether this is going to be available again.
