I have setup a Gateway connection to a Mongo DB datasource in the Power BI service.
Do I need to enter the connection credentials in my Desktop Power BI report as well or is it possible to connect to the gateway and get access to the Mongo DB datasource?

Many thanks, I now have this working.
I am having one further issue though. One of the fields within an object is not populated and the column is missing when I connect in the dataflow. There are only 9 records that have a true value in this column, the rest (several 1000) are null.
Why would this column be missing? How can I make sure that all items in an object are reflected?
You need to generate the schema in Mongo so that PowerBI can see the missing field....Example:
AtlasDataFederation admin> db.runCommand({ sqlGenerateSchema: 1, sampleNamespaces: ['namespace.collection'], sampleSize: 20000, setSchemas: true })
