Been doing some research but still can't quite find a solid yes or no answer. All my reports so far have been set up using a personal gateway meaning I have ensure my laptop is on and connected to the network in order for scheduled refreshes to happen. If I set this up using a standard gateway rather than personal, will this now mean reports will get refreshed even if my laptop is asleep and/or not connected to our network?

Hi @Anonymous
That is correct in order for the data to be refreshed there has to be a computer or server online, so that it can access the local data and send it to Power BI.
So ideally a Server in a data centre is best, because they are typically always on and never get shut down.
The gateway server should be up and running which needs the machine to be running. You might want to install this on a Virtual machine on your network and use it as a server which stays alive.
@deepu299 I see. So whether you are using a personal gateway or enterprise, it would need a to be on a machine that is going to stay on and running 24/7 for scheduled refreshes to take place...
