Hi,
I am trying to setup a gateway and a new data source in Power BI Service with ODBC connector on premises.
I installed the gateway and it is showing ready for Power BI.
Then, a data source was set up in the ODBC Connector as below.
Let's say the data source name is "Sample"
Then, I tried to add a new data source in Power BI Service, as below.
Howev,er I keep getting this error...
Anyone has any idea what could have gone wrong.
Thank you for your time all.
Hi @chrishanfp ,
Please try to use basic authentication method to create gateway datasource, in Power BI Desktop, also connect to Google BigQuery with this method.
There is a similar case you could refer: Solved: Re: Don't auth with auth2 to Bigquery - Microsoft Power BI Community
For more details, you can read related document: Google BigQuery connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

Thank you, BinBin, but I could not retreive the dataset that is shared with my with the Google BigQuery Connector which was why I had to go through the ODBC Connector path.
I still tried to do it with basic authentication, but it was still the same.
I tried the json method as well, but I think it is applicable to the BigQuery Connector not, ODBC one.
Really do not understand why it does not work, as it is clearly working with Power BI Desktop.
