Gateway Installation

Hi all,
I have an open ticket with Microsoft but that has not been helpful yet. I am hoping somebody here has some experience or knowledge about this.

I am trying to install the latest gateway on a Wind 209 server. I have full admin rights. (I have tried "Run as Administrator" and run normal) I have tried to install with and without the anti-virus program. I have tried the most current version and previous months' versions of the gateway. I have uninstalled and rebooted and turned off and on services. The .net is the right version as well.

The server DID have a gateway on it. It was a year old. That is long gone now.

The issue is that the installation gets almost to the end and then it just freezes. No error message. The process shows as running with 0% CPU and either 18.7 or 21.3 memory and it just sits there.

Anybody else seen this problem?

Is that a physical machine or a VM?  Latest patches applied?  Can you try on a different VM?

Maybe do a cleanup of the folders, just in case. Program Files and AppData.

Hi @collinq

I am with @lbendlin What I would suggest doing is, if it's a virtual machine, just to kill it and get a new one installed. If you cannot get the virtual machine reinstalled, I would go through the program files folder and make sure to delete anything relating to power BI as well as look in the control panel on installed programs to ensure that nothing relating to Microsoft or the gateway is installed to make sure it is uninstalled.

Hey @lbendlin and @GilbertQ ,

We are trying the new VM route.  I will let you all know what happens
