Dear all,
I am developing a PowerBI report based on data that are calculated by an R script. This script is executed esternally and write the results to a SQL database. Then PowerBI service read and visualize these data.
I would kindly ask you if it is possible to create a button on the PowerBI that allow the user to execute this external R script.
Best regards
Thank you a lot! In the case Power Automate is not available there are no possibility isn't it?
You can use any RPA tool, but Power Automate has a visual in Power BI, so that button part would be easier.
Depends on what license you have for Microsoft Power Automate. In Power BI you can have a Power Automate button that could then trigger a flow to run the script and to refresh the dataset.
It would still not mean that the report user would see the result immediately - they would have to manually refresh their browser - after the (uncertain) period of time that the script takes to run, and the dataset refreshes.
All in all not a satisfying user experience.
If you have recently started exploring Fabric, we'd love to hear how it's going. Your feedback can help with product improvements.
A new Power BI DataViz World Championship is coming this June! Don't miss out on submitting your entry.
