Excel linked to on premise require schedule refresh

Hi

Is it possible to schedule a refresh for excel file on power bi service thats linked to a on prem tabular model?

The gateway permissions for power bi not sure if that must be applied for the excel file as well? can one do schedule refresh on it or can one use MS flow to assist?

Do you mean you want to connect to excel .pbix file Set refresh schedule right? If so, then you can schedule a refresh directly.

Connecting to on-premises data sources(excel, You have the following options:

• Choose an enterprise data gateway with the required data source definition
• Deploy a personal data gateway
