I've built a paginated report that is using MySQL as the dataset. On my local machine this works without any problems, but when I publish to the power bi service it doesn't work.
I've tried navigating to the 'Manage' page, but when it loads I simply get a 'Something went wrong' message with no further context to guide me. I can't view data source credentials, and get the same error every time I try to hit the page for reports. The error itself contains no useful information that could be used to identify what the underlying issue is.
Can anybody guide me on what I might be missing here? I've tried publishing the rdl (paginated report) from my local machine, and I've also tested that it works by running locally on the gateway and all seems fine.
hi m_richardson,
Are you using MySQL directly in the paginated report? If so, this is not expected to work and I'd suggest you to upvote Microsoft Idea (powerbi.com). List of supported data sources - Supported data sources for Power BI paginated reports - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
One workaround here is to import your MySQL data into Power BI Dataset and then build a paginated report on top of the Power BI Dataset.
Thanks,
Rohit
