I am using the One Drive Business account for this, i dont get any of these options while using the Power BI Service through the browser, what you are asking is options when we use the files from the Power BI Desktop App.

If I use the local file option it works but then the sync is dependent on my laptop which I dont want , I want the system to auto refresh the data from one drive business location since it’s a shared file with other users

Hi there

What you would need to do is to use it via the Web Connector.

Here is a post where it explains on how you can do it https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-use-onedrive-business-links

Same error status code 500

I did read somewhere that you might have to be an Owner on the site.

Can you confirm your permissions?

What do u mean by owner on the site ? Is it the Power BI Workspace you are talking about or the OneDrive Business directory ?

Where do i check the permissions ?

Hi there

It will be on the OneDrive Directory, where you should have the permissions of Owner

Here are more details on how to find out the permissions: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/permissions-sharing-and-synching-for-onedrive...

Thanks for the link but this folder with file is not shared as such with anyone and this is my business account where all the files exist and i have created them so it shows me as the owner

I am then not sure why it is not working.

I can use files from OneDrive for Business with no issues.

Can you post details from the Query Editor on how you are connecting to the file?
