The vast majority of data in my dataset is from Microsoft Business Central. There is an Excel file, which will not have its contents changed, that is part of the dataset. I do not need the Excel file to be updated. Is there a way to disable the need to refresh the Excel file while refreshing the Business Central data?

Can you please try is this solves your problem. Right click on the selected datatable and power query editor. And then uncheck Include in report refresh.
