Hi,
i have some SQL Server database tables i publish for users to a PowerBI Workspace via dataflows. The users are able to connect a PBIX to the data flows and create their own PBI reports.
Some users also want to connect to the tables in the data flows to run some analysis in SSMS. Is there a way to connect SSMS to dataflow tables? I tried and i was able to connect to a workspace and see the data models, but not the Dataflows.
Note, for secutiry, i want to avoid giving them direct access to the source database and would prefer to do this via Dataflows
Thank you
This response is now two years old. Is it still not yet possible to connect to a PowerBI Dataflow with SSMS?
@Anonymous @v-xuding-msft Have either of you found a solution to this?
Hi @Anonymous ,
As I known, it is impossible to get dataflows into SSMS directly. Maybe you could create a new thread in SQL Server community to ask for help.
Best Regards,
Xue Ding
