My Gateway has been configured correctly as my dataset associated to Analysis Services (Tabular Model) is getting refreshed successfully.
I am a Pro Trial user and trying to create a report on SSAS Tabular Model in Power BI online but I am getting "Data source access error. Please contact the gateway administrator" error.
When I tried creating report using SQL Server database as source, it was successful in DirectQuery mode. I could even see changes in report data as soon as data changes in Database.
Please help me with Tabular Model Live Connection issue. Thanks much. (Gaurav Gupta)
HI @grvgupta,
Can you ensure you have the administrator permission? Power bi request the admin permission to manage AS datasource.
The Windows account you enter must have Server Administrator permissions for the instance you are connecting to. If this account’s password is set to expire, users could get a connection error if the password isn’t updated for the data source. For more information, see the main on-premises data gateway article to learn more about how credentials are stored.

If above not help, please provide more detail content about your issue.

Thanks for response. I've been trying different troubleshooting steps in last few days. But nothing worked.
1. I am connected to my organization VPN
2. I have SQL server admin role
3. My organization account is added to SSAS TAB
4. Gateway is also configured with Organization Account
5. Gateway connection test is passing
Apart from this, I tried updating the registery keys as per blogs and all stuff mentioned in different community blogs. I also purchased Pro license but didn't worked. Finally, I setup a new machine but that ran into same issue.
Please guide.
Hi @grvgupta,
I think you should configure the proxy for your gatway access, please check below link to know more about this:
