Hi,
We are using microsoft on the cloud, no on-premise servers.
The data reside in an SQL server hosted by a service provider of an cloud application that we are using. We do not own or control the data server or the cloud app. The data is intended to be used through their webapp interface. Add users, creates items, creates specifications and delivery date. They have an API that we have access, but the data is already processed and does not contain all we need. They are willing to open an direct access to their SQL server (it's a replication server) but they will only allow a few IPs not the full range of the web powerBi dataflow (we asked and it's a hard no. )
What options do we have
- is there a way to use a proxy ? Powerbi (plenty of IP)<----> proxy (reduced IP range) <------> Sql server
- can we use the microsoft gateway service even if we don't own on-premise server if the provider installs it on their server?
- host a middleman like dreamfactory that would connect to their data on a hosted cloud server like oracle ? Seems like a lot of work to setup and maintain.
is there other ways to restrict the IP where the dataflow queries are originating from?
edit reason : added the missing information about the data

Hi, thank you for your time. I'm not sure I understood who you are refering to by the fabric administrator? I realized I skipped a important part of my question. I will update the first post if it's allowed right after this message
