I have been having a problem refreshing in the service, (in desktop - refresh goes through just fine, and quickly as i am only refrencing 8 small spreadhsheets) The problem primarily came up when i had to reset my system password. Since then i have followed advice from other posts here and gone into each gateway and reset the password, checked that they are ALL online, and yet the refresh issue persists. The error always appears as the snip I added below. The current theroy with peers is that this is an issue with the type of sharepoint site i am referencing. I have other reports working just fine and they reference a cloud based sharepoint. But all datasources for this report go an onprem sharepoint site. (To be honest i cant tell you what exactly the difference betwen them but one identifier is their URL and the other is the icon. The 'old' on-prem icon is the blue one on top, and the 'new' cloud based sharepoints (ones that work with pbi service refresh) have the lower green image.
I dont know why this would matter to service and not desktop but that is our current assumption. But I'm currently looking for a solution that doesnt require a department to relocate all of their data for what wasnt an issue before i changed my
