Data Flow Refresh Fails

Hello,

Has anyone experienced any refresh fails with data flows? It takes unusually long, and eventually fails. I get the error below:

Error: Data Source Error : The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send... RootActivityId ..

I have tried recreating the data flow steps in PowerBI Desktop and it works fine. Further to this, is there a way to improve flow spead.I have about 1.5 million rows coming from the data source.

Thanks!

What is the data source?

If it's SharePoint Online check the main PBI support site:

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/

Power BI customers with Premium Capacities using SharePoint Online as a data source may see refresh not complete successfully with the following message - "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send". Power BI and SharePoint Engineers are investigating the issue and an update will be provided soon.

Yes, SharePoint is the data source and we running on premium capacity. It's been acting up past couple of days. That's the exact error we are experiencing, thanks for highlighting.

If the steps are working in Power BI desktop, copy that steps and paste it in blank query of dataflow. It should work.

To improve the performance, you could try incremental refresh. For that (dataflow), you may need premium capacity.
