Dashboard not viewable in APP

Hi,

I have created and published an APP, the reports appear fine but dashboards do not and say "The report shown in this tile doesn't exist or you don't have permission to view it.".

Dashboard appears correctly within APP.

After publishing APP, it's not permissions as I am admin\owner and created the APP.

The reports appearing correctly just not dashboards and I'm not sure what is cuasing this.

What solutions, dashboards aren't supported?

Hi @ringovski2,

Dashboard tiles in Apps only work if the underlying reports are also included and visible. As noted in the Publish an app in Power BI docs tiles won’t display if the linked reports aren’t part of the app. Adding those reports or enabling Allow users to access hidden content resolves the issue.

This happens because dashboards aren’t fully supported inside Power BI Apps — only reports and datasets are.

That’s why you see:

“The report shown in this tile doesn’t exist or you don’t have permission to view it.”

Fix / Workarounds:

Instead of publishing the dashboard, publish the underlying report inside the app.

Or pin visuals from reports directly into the app (not from a dashboard).

If you must use dashboards → share the dashboard separately (outside the app).

In short: Dashboards won’t reliably render inside an App. Use Reports + App navigation instead.
