Customizing template apps for different users

Hi

im using Power BI to create template apps for my customers.
My reports are consuming the data exposed through my public API, and the url itself contains a unique id belonging to the account for which i want to retrieve the data for.

So let's say,
- customer 1 account id  =123

- customer 2 account id = 345.

So, if customer1 will call url is  /v1/customer/123/mydata  to get his data

while customer 2 will have to call /v1/customer/345/mydata.

Now,  my app is sharing the same reports/dashboards, but each customer will have to set his account id at startup in order to get his data. Is there a customer friendly way to achieve that (through a pop up at startup, or a field to fill in within the report) ?

Thanks in advance

AA

@Anonymous ,

The URL filter query may meet your requirement, please refer to:

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

But i don't need to use odata to "filter" the data. I need to "inject" the account key within the url.

And odata syntax goes at the end of the url (ex.:  api-url/endpoint?$filter=AccountName eq 'value')

While my accountId is within the URL (ex.: api-url/{account_id}/endpoint)

@Anonymous ,

I'm afraid currently custom URL is not supported. As a workaround, I would suggest you to add in user account column and configure dynamic RLS, you may refer to this blog: http://radacad.com/dynamic-row-level-security-with-manager-level-access-in-power-bi.
