With the addition of XMLA end points, is it an option to now create a Linked Server to the PowerBI data set?
Our Tabular SSAS models are managed programatically via Linked Server.
I'm hoping I can issue same commands via a linked server to the Dataset.
I've added a Linked Server using the SSAS Linked server code as a template and changing the datasrc value.
When I test the Linked Server connection I get this error:
"Errors in the OLE DB provider. Integrated Security must not be set or set to ClaimsToken in order to access this server.". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)

Hi @scurrp,
If you mean use SQL linked server connect to power bi dataset, it is possible.
AFAIK, power bi service datasets host on azure blob data storage, so you can refer to the following tutorial to know how to use sql server connect to azure blob storage:
Tutorial: Use Azure Blob storage service with SQL Server 2016
If you mean get data from the linked server, it seems not to support. Perhaps you can try to use other connector drivers or submit an idea to improve this.
