Circle of death :) - New App experience

Hi all,

the new app experience was rolled out by MS this week to our tenant.

I have now the following issue in one workspace:

If I want to delete a dataset, the following error message appears:

Delete dataset

This dataset can't be deleted because it's included in the published app. Try again after unpublishing the app or updating the app after removing all related content.

If i try to update the app, it states: "All items are hidden from your audience(s). To publish the app, make sure at least one item is visible for each audience".

Well...i have only one audience set up here, and the report/items are definitely visible (i.e. you see the eye, it is not striked thorugh).

I put myself in as audience...if i click update app, the usual message appears (can take up to 10 mins...). But i cant access the app, it automatically puts me to the Apps icon in the PBI Service...but I can do anything. Furhtermore, I can not add "old" reports to the app (do they need to be republished?).

Its defintely odd...

Hi @NovaBI ,

Your first question, if you want to delete a dataset, please try the following method:

1. Goto the workspace (also referred to the app)
2. On top right click on eclipses (...)
3. Select "Unpublish App"
4. Now go to your dataset and delete and confirm
5. Click on the workspace eclipses again
6. Select Edit Workspace
7. Publish app again

As for your second question, click on the "Audience" tab and see if the item is hidden.

As for your third question, if you want to add reports to the app, you should update the app.
