Azure Maps visual not rendering data points

Hello,

My Azure Maps visual is not rendering the data point bubbles in the published report (first image below).

However, the data points render correctly when opened in Power BI Desktop (second image). I have refreshed the report several times and republished, but to no avail.

Please advise.

Hi @Anonymous  ,

Please ensure there are no Visual level filters that are applied to your visual.
Make sure you are using the latest version of power BI and clear out the cache by this method:

Go to powerbi.com

Open your browser’s dev tools (in Microsoft Edge or Chrome, using the F12 key)

Go to the Application tab

Look for IndexedDB on the left hand side

Select the arrow to expand

Look for GeocoderCache

Select the arrow to expand

Look for objects

Right-click and press Clear

Refresh the page

After this re publish and check if you are still facing the issue.

Thank you for your response. I have tried this method but it is still not working. I did notice this particular line of code when I checked the Developer tools and also identified that the data is still pulling through when I show the visual as a table:

Hi @Anonymous

1. Check Dataset and Network Access

  • Ensure the dataset is refreshed in Power BI Service.
  • Verify your network allows access to Azure Maps services (e.g., Bing Maps API).

2. Enable Azure Maps in Admin Portal

  • Confirm Azure Maps visuals are enabled in Admin Portal > Tenant Settings.

3. Validate Licensing

  • Ensure you’re using Power BI Pro or Premium, as Azure Maps requires a supported license.

4. Verify Data Fields

  • Ensure the location fields are properly categorized (e.g., "City," "Country," or Lat/Long).

5. Clear Browser Cache

  • Perform a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) or clear your browser cache.

6. Test in Power BI Service

  • Open the report in Power BI Service directly to ensure the visual renders there.

If the issue persists, update Power BI Desktop to the latest version and check the Power BI Service status for Azure Maps issues.
