Hey everyone,
we are using a direct query model to an Azure Databricks source (SQL Compute). Per documentation it should be possible to pass through the original Azure AD user looking at the report it PowerBI to the Databricks data source, so we can handle permissions in Databricks.
However even if the corresponding option is activated in dataset settings, the queries seem to come from the user the data source has been set up with and not the user looking at the report.
Is there anything we are doing wrong or is the setup we want not possible?
Thank you very much for any help!

Hi,
thank you for your reply.
Unfortunatley I do not seem to have that option available:
We are not using a gateway. Do you have another idea?
Thank you!

Hi @restlessmodem ,
My understanding is that if you enable report viewer can only access data sourece with thire own power bi identities using direct query. this will use the user's identities to get data depend on user's access in Azure Databricks. If you do not minde, you can try to use the gateway. or maybe you can have a support ticket, this will help you to solve your problem.
