Automatically email pdf from my PBI report without using power automate

Hello,

I would like to send evry day a PDF of my PBI report automacticly. After some ressearch, I found that I can use Power Automate but if only I have a Power BI premium license (full not per user). The Problem is I can't have this license.

So my question is: doesn't have any other solution without using Power Automate?

PS: I've a Pro license of PBI

My regards

Hi, @Anonymous

A PPU user can create a subscription email that contains a PDF of the Report.

That email can be sent to a Pro user and they can see the PDF.

However that email cannot be sent to an email address that has a Free licence or does not have a licence, you'll get the error message "Free users or groups can only be subscribed to reports or dashboards backed by Premium capacity: " when you try and create the subscription, unless the organisation has a Premium Capacity licence and the report is on a Premium Capacity workspace.

Hello @v-zhangti ,

Thank you for your feedback, I realy apreciate that, you gave me more informations I didn't have.

However, the report is intended for external users of our organization.

So, I think whithout the premium capacity licence, I can't do it. Unfortunatelty, my organisation doesn't have this licence for now.

Hi, @Anonymous

If you're just sharing reports with external users, here's how.

1. If you want to share it with users outside the organization, you can try this method:

https://docs.microsoft.com/power-bi/admin/service-admin-azure-ad-b2b

The guest user must have the proper licensing in place to view the content that you shared.

There are a few ways to make sure the user has a proper license: use Power BI Premium, assign a Power BI Pro license, get a Premium Per User (PPU) license, or use the guest's Power BI Pro license.

2. If you don't want to buy Premium and Pro licenses, you can try publishing to the web.

However, when you use Publish to web, anyone on the Internet can view your published report or visual. This method is not safe.

Publish to Web: Publish to web from Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

No. This is a feature of Power Automate in conjunction with a Premium license. You don't actually need a Power BI Pro license here. But you do need Power Automate. I think a basic license in Office 365 is fine, but your enterprise might have disabled it. Normally it is included.
