For some time now, the FAQ page for App Workspaces has had the following note:
Is there a timeline for when this functionality will be available? As Power BI is used in large enterprises, trying to manage individual user access to App Workspaces becomes a challenge and creates one more place that security need to be managed at the individual user level. Power BI has done such a great job of integrating Power BI into AAD and O365... and groups are available for other content sharing features in Power BI service. Is there a reason why groups cannot be added in App Workspaces?

AFAIK, power bi team will consider release hot ideas. I check similar ideas in ideas forum which only has less vote amount.
I don't think they will consider to add it to plan list at the present.

The Power BI Product team does a great job with releasing features requested by the community... one of my most needed features was released in this month's release! However, this feature has seemed to be on the list of things to come on the FAQs page for a while.
