App Source

Hi

I would like to create a library of Power BI Apps within my company where people even if they don't have access to the App can search and then can request access if needed. I noticed that through testing, that Apps that are "shared with the organisiation" are viewable in App Source under Org Apps. When they are shared with specific people, it doesn't appear in App Source.

Does anyone have a solution or an alternative for this?

thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,

In my opinion, the best way to create a company-wide common App source is to Row-level security and then "shared with the organisiation", even if it has to be configured for all reports.

Can go through this link for more details like how to share, access, providing emails, etc.,

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards

Also, you can look into RLS for security across the organization to filter out the data based on the roles you specify.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls
