Anyone know if you can add Fabric DW tables to Fabric DirectLake model using Tabular Editor 2?

Greetings, all. I have a DirectLake semantic model created from a Fabric Data Warehouse and am trying to use Tabular Editor to interact with it. I want to add another table from my Fabric DW model (without breaking DirectLake functionality), but I don't quite know how to do that. I have Tabular Editor 2 if that matters. Anyone done this with TE2?

Connect to Your Fabric Model

  • Open Tabular Editor 2 and connect to your Fabric model. You can connect to your Power BI dataset or SSAS (Tabular) model by selecting File > Open and providing the necessary connection details.

2. Add New Tables

  • In Tabular Editor 2, you can add tables to your model, but you need to ensure you are modifying the right model and have access to the underlying data source (Fabric DW).
  • Right-click on the Tables node in the Model pane.
  • Select Create Table to add a new table manually if the table is not already in your Fabric DW.

3. Import Data from Fabric DW

  • If you want to import an existing table from your Fabric DW, you will need to ensure that the table is already part of your model or data source in Fabric.
  • Go to Model > Data Sources and ensure that your Fabric DW connection is properly configured and included in the data source settings.
