Add a measure without disconnecting a dataset from nightly refresh

Hello Community,  

We have a dataset that is created from our datalake and refreshed on a nightly basis.  Is it possible to add a measure (calculated field) to the dataset without downloading the pbix creating the DAX measure and then publishing the pbix.  We are looking for the most efficient way to allow a desktop user to add a measure without disconnecting the dataset from the datasource.  I hope this is clear!  Thank you for your help.

If you have tabular editor and you have premium you  can connect to the workspace and add a measure that way.  By connecting to  the Power BI XMLA endpoint in tabular editor you can add a new measure.
