Hello everyone!
I em excited about the possibility of using Fabric Databases but I cannot seem to get the option to show up. I have a Fabric Capacity license that I purchased through Azure reservations. I have checked the PowerBI Admin in multiple places and even waited well over 24hours. I do not see the option in Tenant Settings or in Capacity Settings.
I know the Fabric Capacity license is working because I was able to create a Workspace and assign it to Fabric.
Any help is great appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi @bizkitz! Unfortunately, Fabric Databases is currently not available in certain regions, including East US 2, South Central US, West US, and West US 2. However, it will be available in all regions by early December. If your issue is not related to this regional limitation, I recommend filing a support case for further assistance!
Thank you so much for replying so quick! I am unaware if/how I could specify where the Fabric Database is provisioned? I assume it just defaults to wherever the Fabric Capacity has been purchased which is 'East US" in my case.
Hi @bizkitz ,
Yes, it's usually the default region to buy, and you can check it this way:

Ok Thanks for that Scott. Looks like mine is Central US so I guess I will put a ticket in.
Hi @bizkitz ,
Please check if the use of this preview function is enabled:
Enable SQL database - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

Thanks Scott, but as I noted in my original comment, that option simply isnt there (it does not appear in Tenant Settings OR in Capacity Settings). I have seen another person speaking about this on YouTube where this wasnt working for him either when he was using F2 (which I am). When this person switched to PowerBI Capacity the Fabric Database options showed up for him. So to recap, I am using Azure Reserved, Central US, with F2 CU and the Database/SQL option does not show up.
Hi Bizkitz,
Here is the list of regions where this capability is available now - Fabric region availability - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn . You mentioned that you purchased the capacity in Central US. This region just got this capability turned on. Please try it out and flag this post if your issue is resolved.
Best Regards
