Hello,
I have an error when I try to open a report containing a custom visualization. The visualisation comes from AppSource (It is the sankey chart from MS) :
Using it on PowerBI Desktop works well, but when I upload this to my inhouse Power BI report server, I'm getting following error :

Any idea what could be wrong. Do I need to add the visual to the server? Thank you
Solved! Go to Solution.
I was wrong on my first analysis, the issue was not on the custom visual in fact. I focused on this as it was the first report using a custom visual I published on my report but I just forgot to use the right service account for my datasource and the issue was with the access to data.
So problem solved but nothing to do with visual.

Hello,
This link seems to be a solution for issues on PowerBI Desktop while I have opposite issue. Everything is ok on PowerBI Desktop but my report doesn't work on PowerBI Report Server. My server is on an offline network and has no access to internet. Can this be my issue? Do I need to import the visualization first?
Hi @Mous ,
Since your Power BI Report Server is running offline, it can't fetch custom visuals from AppSource at runtime. While Power BI Desktop (connected to the internet) can load visuals during report design, the Report Server needs these visuals to be manually imported to work correctly.
FYI:
To fix this, download the required .pbiviz file for the custom visual (e.g., Sankey chart) from AppSource using an internet-connected machine, then upload it to Report Server via the portal under Manage > Custom Visuals.
If my response solved your query, please mark it as the Accepted solution to help others find it easily.
And if my answer was helpful, I'd really appreciate a 'Kudos'.
Hi @V-yubandi-msft ,
sorry maybe a stupid question, but where do I access Manage > Custom Visuals ? Can't see it. I'm system administrator on the server.
Thank you
This seems to be a solution when the issue is in PowerBI desktop. I have the opposite issue. Everything works on my PowerBI Desktop but report oesn't work on my Power BI Report Server. My report server has no access to internet. it is on an offline network. Do I need to somehow import the visualization to the server? couldn't found anything related.
