Hello everyone,
I'm moving several reports built from SSRS, which are paginated reports in PowerBI, to a regular PBIX file. These Paginated Reports use multiple stored procedures, and I used them in PowerBI using Native Query and Parameters. Now, I want to allow Business Users to modify the parameters easily through the PowerBI Server. I've read this post, but it looks like the only option is to use PBIT or change it in the dataset settings in the PBI Server.
I can't allow this to Business users. Does anyone have a better way to do this?
Thank you

What is the business value of allowing them to set the parameters? Would you be better off including all the data and then having the users filter it as needed? Re-rendering in the "regular" Power BI is cheaper than in paginated reports.

My client was using paginated reports to consume all the data from their database, allowing Business Users to filter as they wanted and download it as an Excel file. So, the next step is to see if we can replicate this usage using PBIX files, and for sure, what's expected in the future is to do it as you mentioned.
So, for now, I want to see if it is possible to allow users to modify parameters in an easy way.
The only way is to use Direct Query and Dynamic M Query parameters. But that also involves having all data "at their fingertips".
That's what I thought. Do you believe what I proposed here (LINK) is possible and a good workaround?
Meh? Why go through all that hassle when the Semantic Model can do the work for you?
Oh really? Do you have any walkthroughs on this? It would be helpful to see how can achieve it using Semantic Models
As I said - load all the data, and then let the users look at it and filter as needed. Let go of the urge to try and control the rendering.
